Hello Friends:
I hope this e-mail finds you well. I’m reaching out to ask for your help in the fight against Type 1 Diabetes. As you may know, Type 1 Diabetes usually develops during childhood or adolescence and it has no known cure. It affects millions of families around the world. The only way to reduce its reach and decrease its impact is through research. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund leads the way on that front, and I have pledged my support to the cause. I hope you’ll join me.
First, a little background on JDRF: It is a dedicated, efficient charity—and the largest in the world devoted to Type 1 Diabetes research. It currently sponsors more than $530 million in scientific research initiatives. JDRF also operates with minimal overhead—more than 80% of expenditures go directly towards research. I have gotten to know the local Georgia Chapter leadership quite well. They are passionate people who do great work. This year they extended me the honor of joining the ONE Group, a team of Atlanta-area professionals who are working to raise funds and awareness for Type 1 Diabetes.
As a member of the ONE Group, I have made a personal pledge to raise $2,500 for T1D research in the next month. I hope you will consider contributing. Donating is quick and easy. The instructions can be found in the link below. Atlanta-area folks should also consider buying a ticket to the ONE Party, which will take place on November 12 at American Spirit Works in Atlanta. I went to last year’s party, and it was a blast. This year should be even better with the good folks at American Spirit Works.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. And for you local folks, I hope the welcome break from the rain will increase your charitable mood. Have a great day.
